The Foundation for Promotion of the Actuarial Profession was founded on the surplus of the 23rd International Congress of Actuaries, Helsinki 1988. |
The purpose of the Foundation is to promote research and educational activities in the actuarial field, which includes, besides actuarial mathematics, actuarial matters relating to investment activities, accounting and internationalization of the insurance industry. In order to promote its aims, the Foundation gives support to educational and research activities, organizes seminars, and supplies grants to individuals and organizations.
The Foundation for Promotion of the Actuarial Profession was founded on the surplus of the 23rd International Congress of Actuaries, Helsinki 1988.
Along with grants, the Foundation is responsible for the portion of the costs of the Scandinavian Actuarial Journal allocated to the Finnish Society. The most important activity is the yearly Autumn Seminar.
